Why do people keep telling me I have an eating disorder?
I am a female of 5 foot 2 and I don’t get a lot of exercise. I only burn about 1600-1800 calories a day according to my doctor. Which means I don’t need to eat as much as my roommate who is approx. 5 foot 9, male and works construction. Etc. What I don’t get is why everyone keeps telling me I need to eat more when I make sure that I eat enough to maintain my weight, get my nutrients, and stay healthy.
So I guess what I’m asking here is, why do some people think that if you don’t eat huge meals or you are not over-weight, that you must have an eating disorder?
For those who asked my weight, it is 118lbs and my bmi is 21.6 (a normal bmi is between 18.5 and 24.9)

i guess some ppl think that if ur fite that u have problems. I think it depends on the person. Some americans are accustomed to processed foods and fast food retaurants.
Because they’re talking about themselves……haha…….Don’t listen to them just do what you thinks right for your body and you’re self.
Well I have a cousin who asks me the same thing. It’s probably because you are REALLY thin and don’t eat much so that makes people think you’re trying to lose weight (and if you ARE trying to lose weight they don’t understand how).
So you just have to eat more and maybe NOT be so thin.
Being thin isnt bad but being TOO thin is…..
SexKitten you appear tobe looking for validation the problem with giving it to you is that you failed to tell us what you weigh– that is a telling factor for me. i have a friend who is anorexic- it is dangerous. Your caloric intake is not excessively restricted. You are little but what do you weigh? I don’t know, but my gut level on you is that you do have an eating problem. Whether it is technically anorexia or not – I couln’t say but I think you have something going on otherwise you would have included your weight-hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
