What’s an illness/sleeping disorder that makes you sleep a lot?
As opposed to insomnia? I thought it was ME but I don’t think that’s right. I know there IS an illness, but I don’t know the name. When you sleep for long periods of time because you need to, you need more rest than other people and often feel exhausted?

narcolepsy
Hypersomnia.
I think it’s fibermialgia. But, I could be wrong.
Low blood and a vitamin deficiency can do that too.
depression and narcolepsy
Its called hypersomnia. bad diet or depression are among the causes
Depression is a big one. I’ve actually been doing that recently. Also, my father has diabetes, and that can be the case in being so exhausted. There really is no way to tell though, unless you talk to a professional that knows more about diseases and conditions.
narcolepsy – I used to know someone who suffered from this, and although it gave us good entertainmeant when he literaly fell asleep into his pint half way through a sentence, it was actually quite dangerous and disabling for him
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome comes to mind. (CFS)
Here is a good source for information.

I personally think it could be M.E (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome). I have just been diagnosed with it, and mine started by needing to sleep alot, and not feeling refreshed when i woke up. I now have more symptoms of it and each week i seem to get another one, which is hard to deal with.
Go and see your doctor and explain to them. They will probably do a blood test and also ask when this started, if you have been ill recently etc
I have been told i have a virus which has now caused chronic fatigue, but even with blood tests they are still unable to find out what the virus is to treat it. If it is it could take a while for the doctors to find out what has caused it, but dont give up on them, as if your like me you just want to know. Apparently this is the way my body is trying to cope with the virus, whether that is true or not i dont know.
See your doctor as soon as possible, as you might start feeling worse over the next couple of weeks if it is M.E
I hope it’s not and is something that can be treated easily for you.
