What will doctors normally do when a patient with severe anxiety has to fly?
I probably have to fly from the UK to Canada. I suffer from severe social anxiety, mild agoraphobia and claustrophobia.
I’ve been prescribed diazepam for a couple of short flights.
Will the doctor offer me anything for a long flight?

he will prescribe you something else to calm you down
I think there are courses that you can do that help wary flyers. Contact your national airline as to when the courses are running.
first they will give you some medicines after that they will tell you to do some meditation and stuff like that and after that they will do therapy..they will explain you how to control your anxiety in the therapy session..
Hey, they will probably jsut prescribe you a higher dose of diazepam or chlorpromazine. My mum had never flown before and was petrified of it and her doctor gave her some diazepam, she didnt end up needing it, but knowing it was there helped.
Considering what you suffer from your doctor will definatly be open to giving you something to help out!
Good Luck!
give you meds
u will need to ask the dr.
