What kind of unusual problems can occur with an eating disorder?
I have had an eating disorder for about 2 and a half years, I am recovering now and doing much better, but while i had it (bulimia/anorexia) I had some medical problems i had never had before but didnt seem to be listed as common problems associated with having an eating disorder. Such as I has ovarian cists, kidney stones, blueish coloron my fingernails, and when i first started i lost my period even though i wasnt seriously underweight at the time.
Does anyone know why these type of things might happen, and if they could be ED realated or are they just coincidenses>?

They are definately ED related. Most of them have something to do woth malnutrition and not getting the things that your body needs
Everytime a person vomits they lose potassium from their body.
We do not have a lot of potassium in our bodies to play around with. When it gets low enough. The heart stops. You die. Happens a lot with bulimics. Anorexia has the same problem but there are more warning signs. Bullimics just "code" over the toilet. Nice way to go!
aww im so sorry thats so sad there is many signs and they dont tell all of them i would talk to a dr about it and keep eating healthier i know its hard i need to loose weight but i know i just need to eat more salad and stuff but i wish u the best of luck
You also need to see your dentist. People with bulimia can cause alot of damage to their teeth. The stomach acid can cause deterioration of the enamel and that can lead to cavities and also gum disease. Congrats on the recovery and good luck!
