What herbal remedies are there for anxiety?
My father is currently taking diazepam 2mg for anxiety feelings, which only occur every so often. He doesn’t take them all the time, only when he feels nervous and not in control. Are there herbal remedies out there that could take there place?

Kava does work but its not reccommended,as it can have semi serious side affects.Even natural stuff can be risky so you have to be what your using ya know?
Chamomile is very good, nettle tea(especially for men),peppermint tea.
Anything with valerian in it.Kalms available from good health shop.Relora can be purchased on the anxietyuk.org website.
We all have times where we are anxious. Since your father doesn’t experience this on a continual basis I believe a natural herbal remedy would work for the occasional anxiety attack.
Rescue Remedy by Bach’s is a good solution. It’s a small bottle and easy to pack along anywhere.
Essential oils like lavender and chamomile may be helpful. Diffusing a few drops in a diffuser or in a pan of simmering water in the room that he is in can help calm him.
Hops and chamomile teas, valerian tincture, and oatstraw tea are all good herbs. Passionflower is another good one. I personally like drinking a straw oatstraw tea on a daily basis to help nourish the nervous system.
Kava kava is tricky because you can’t mix it with alcohol or barbituates and it’s not advised to drive while taking it. I think there are so many other good choices besides kava kava.
I hope your father finds something that works for his particular situation.
Many herbal remedies can help to get your inner peace back.
But to replace diazepam you can use St John’s Wart.
P.s. never use it before requesting your health care Professional advice.
