Anxiety makes you ‘nervous’ you feel like you’re sweating. Your body can become really tense, causing you to have pains in various places of your body. It’s not that uncommon. The ‘stomach hurting’ could be from the nervous feeling you have during an attack.
Other symptoms you may have..
Pounding heart
Sweating
Stomach upset or dizziness
Frequent urination or diarrhea
Shortness of breath
Tremors and twitches
Muscle tension
Headaches
Fatigue
Insomnia
YOu just told us what it does.
it puts alot of stress on your body, everything that u described is a sure sign of stress hun, which can be the cause of anxiety.
I have had panic disorder for 14 years (severe anxiety) It can wreak havoc on your body!! trust me I know all too well. I have felt all of those symptoms and then some. Go to a therapist they can help you with or without medication
no, my gf has really bad anxiety, and what usually happens is you are scared for no reason sometimes, you can sometimes feel sick to your stomach. Headaches can occur. Depression is also very common.
I think you may have something else.
everybodys body reacts differently to stress, some peoples hair falls out or turns grey, some people gain or lose weight drasticly so all of those symptoms can be related to stress and anxiety most definatley the stomach pain and light headedness, week in the knees and ect.
those are alot of the signs of anxiety…..
Nervous Effect- When you feel some sort of danger, the brain sends messages to autonomic nervous system that has two-sub sections; sympathetic nervous system and parasympathetic nervous system. The sympathetic nervous system is also called ‘fight / flight’ system. The system releases energy and prepares the body for action. Parasympathetic nervous system is restoring system, which brought the body to the normal.
Cardiovascular Effect of Anxiety- The action in sympathetic nervous system results in increased heart beat rate, high blood pressure and heavy delivery of oxygen to the tissues and removal of waste product from the tissues. The blood flows to the larger muscles such as muscles of thighs and biceps. This prepare the body for action.
Respiratory Effects of Anxiety- Since the fight /response is linked with increased and deep breathing; the tissues require more oxygen to ready for action. The individual feel breathlessness, choking or smothering feelings, and pain or tightness in the chest. The symptoms also include giddiness, blurred vision, confusion, unreality and hot flushes. However, these effects are not dangerous at all.
Sweat Gland Effects of Anxiety- The fight / flight response results in increased sweating. Heavy sweating makes the organism skin slippery so that it becomes hard to grip and cooling the body.
Other Physical Effects of Anxiety- Anxiety leads to decrease in salivation and hence dry mouth. Digestive system do not function properly which results in nausea, heavy stomach and constipation. Some anxiety is also accompanies with trembling and shaking etc.
Stress and anxiety definitely causes these symptoms. Your body releases a lot of hormones and chemicals during stress that have a negative impact on your body if they don’t get used up. Also, muscle tension caused by stress can cause headaches, and all kinds of other body aches and pains. A good way to help symptoms of stress is to get a lot of exercise. This will help with the aches and pains, use up all those hormones and chemicals, and it also improves your mood and relieves anxiety. But long term, you need to deal with the stress itself. There are a lot of relaxation techniques you can try. The most important thing is to deal with your worry and anxiety before it gets out of control.
My friend gets a lot of anxiety attacks (a Doctor actually diagnosed her) and she just has this horrible pressure on her chest, as if someone was sitting on her.
When I’m nervous about something, like an interview, I have all of the symptoms that you described above. But they’re not anxiety attacks.
In my personal experience, I was sick more, allergy attacks were more severe, and I my self confidence was either too high or too low.
Anxiety can make you talk faster, fill in words for someone is talking to you, scare the heck out of you in certain circumstances.
You may need a medication like Paxil…..ask your Dr. I was unlucky enough to have that with ADHD, and the combination of Paxil, and Strattera has made my life like a brand new one. Hope you get some help because I don’t care what therapists say, this needs medicine.
I will never be convinced it’s all mental…never.
anything, before i got help i used to comehome,do my work, and then lay hours with a pillow over my head then get up and hurt and be light headed…ya and i am only 13!
Anxiety, for me personally, causes me to hyperventilate (which ultimately leads to chest pains that can last FOR DAYS), I become chilly, and I violently shake, which varys depending upon how upset I am. I also suffer through extreme chronic fatigue, dizziness, a racing heart, and nausea like you wouldn’t believe.
Some days I’ll twitch here and there, while others I tend to shake so bad that it will appear as though I am having a seizure. It has even lead to my first mental breakdown recently; quite an unpleasant experience. The best thing that I recommend, is that you get help before it progresses even further.
I have been dealing with anxiety, I have now learned, for a good majority of my life and lately it has drastically progressed into a downward spiral of torment and strife…
If you have any current questions on your symptoms/if you would like to know if they might be linked to anxiety…I recommend that you take a look at this site; however, it is not a substitute for REAL help…so please take heed of my warning and do want you KNOW would be best for you.

GOOD LUCK
I have anxiety/panic disorder,
Physically I get:
Sweaty hands
Rapid heart beat
Shaking and aches in legs, arms, buttocks and hands
Cloudy headed
Rapid breathing
Teeth grinding
At the end of the day I am so exhausted and sore.
Mentally- negative thoughts, a feeling of doom, worry and frustration.
I went to a young person’s therapist and she taught me to understand my body and thoughts. I now know how to calm myself down by thinking positively and breathing. It has really worked for me. I still feel the doom feelings now and then.
