What do I do if I have social anxiety and am scared to go to my brother’s graduation party?
I think mine might be a somewhat unique situation but I am very very freaked out to go to my brother’s graduation party that will be held soon. My mom is planning it and she has invited a lot of family friends that I haven’t spoken to in a while and some of my old friends. I really am very very scared to go cause I am just scared of meeting old friends and my bro might be coming down for it and I am always scared to meet him too cause we are not very close. I haven’t seem him for about 11 months or so. I am very scared of people. I just do not know what to do. I have been suffering and getting anxiety about this for a long time.

The only way to get over a fear is to confront it. Crappy I know, and Im sorry but this is probably not the answer your looking for. But you will get over it eventually, and you will regret not going. This might be your very last chance to see these people again, so make the best of it
I’d practice some relaxation techiniques for stress/anxiety, such as breathing techiniques. When the day comes, just try and enjoy yourself. Don’t think too much about it beforehand because worrying is usually half the battle. You might find out that it wasn’t as bad as you imagined. You might want to prepare yourself for the usual questions "How is school, what have you been up to lately, etc." But, overall, don’t overanalyze.
First of all get to the point.

this is your brothers party, he is the star, you are one of the audience, so go, let him bask in the glow of adulation (real or affected), You just have to look your best, smile a lot, say high to the people you know, and things will proceed as they should
Save your anxiety for your graduation party, in the meantime, watch and learn , because your time is coming.
