What are the chances that i will inherit Bipolar from my mum?
I am 21 years old from Glasgow Scotland. After a short spell in hospital i have been treated with anti-depressants for depression for over 5 months now.My Mum has Bipolar disorder.What are the chances that i have/will inherit Bipolar from her?Is it pretty high?

You do inherit it – chances are if your being treated for depressoin that its just the start of bipolar (depends also on how many other family members have it??) – but its not all that bad, at least your seeing someone so if it develops you can catch it early and stop it getting bad! BBest of luck!!
Its not for me to say but i think you should talk to a doctor about it as they know more about bipolar and the chances of in heriting a disorder of a family member.
