If they always think that they’re fat regardless of their thin/skinny figures and feel guilty after they eat their meal and throw it. Treatment is the key to stop this disorder.
I don’t necessarily believe that its your personality that triggers an eating disorder. It all just has to do with your self-esteem, what you think of yourself and how you look at yourself. If a person suffers from depression they are more likely to develop an eating disorder. A way to know if someone might be suffering from an eating disorder is if you never see them eating, or after they always go to the bathroom. Also, you should be concerned if your friend is always talking about how awful they look or if they are saying bad things like "I wanna lose 10 lbs" yet they have no reason to. Eating disorders are pretty common these days considering all of the pressure from the media. Make sure you and your friends know that models aren’t healthy and how they look is not realistic and you are always beautiful no matter what your body type is. We are not put on this earth to be 5’11 and 100 lbs and look like skeletons.

Im not sure if it is directly related to personality traits but usually girls that are highly pressured to be thin(high school, college, sororities), have low self esteem, and hate their body and always find something wrong with it are at high risk. Girls that weigh themselves constantly, dont eat enough, or fear gaining one pound are also signs.
Personality disorders like Narcissistic, Histrionic, Antisocial, Borderline are common in the eating disordered. They also tend to be perfectionists. disorder is also pretty common.
Eating disorders are typically used as a way of avoiding a problem or a way of having to deal with a particularly traumatic event.
