What are some good techniques on getting rid of anxiety?
I have some bad issues with anxiety and i’m about to go to a good friends Christmas party. I know i’m gonna get nauseous because it happened many many times.
I’m also not gonna be able to go to the doctors yet.
Any tips?

Not saying this will work for you, but I always stand so I face as few people as possible. Say their are 30 people in the room well I face the corner with the fewest people. I also take something to fix on – a book or magazine it makes it easy to ignore the rest of the room. Something else you might try is to fixate on one person. Good luck – glad its you not me.

you should drink tons of water
Take a Benadryl or a Tylenol PM. It helps with anxiety.

close your eyes…no noise…pray about it, too
take a chill pill homie
blowing into a paper bag-if i havnt got one ive found cupping my hands and breathing in and out helps
get a massage, take a vacation, sleep in…just let go of stress. Enjoy yourself.

Grab some guided meditations before you can see somebody who can help you further.

just remember to breathe … the whole reason we get panicy , is we forget to breathe and we starve the brain of oxygen and the our body sends panic symptoms to the brain … simple . take 3 deep breaths and all will be good

What I usually do is I Drink a cup of cool water, sit down or go outside to breath and I just breath in deeply, and you should clear your mind like in a meditative state almost.
tell yourself that you are going to have a good time because these people who will be with you are decent and good. go to the party with the idea that you will find a few new friends who you will enjoy tremendously and it will be so.
Exercise! Jump around, sing and dance as you get ready for the party. Take deep breaths and have possitive thoughts. I don’t know what your condition is but I suggest you get your thyroid gland checked.
Depends on the level of your anxiety. If it is something that is constant, stops you from doing and enjoying things in your life and you end up avoiding people and places, then I recommend going on a low dosage Zoloft (an anti depressant used for anxiety disorders) and talking to a therapist to find out the origin of the problem. It is proven to help major anxiety disorders when used long term (1-3 year). Men tend to quit the drug more than woman because it may decreased sex drive.
If it’s not a big problem for you, just go talk to a therapist about it and you should get better.
I have been there, and done that. Anxiety, Depression it is a killer believe me. Please, get some help go see the folks, in Behavior Health. but, you could still do yourself a good service by watching what you eat. Getting a good night’s sleep. Exercise. Drink lots of water.
Think Good Positive Thoughts. Go to the Party, and Have some Fun. You deserve it. Think no I will not get nauseous. You have to say it, and believe it.
Lower your stress level. Don’t go to anything you’re not going to enjoy.
