   "An Unquiet Mind" is the autobiography of a psychologist who has bipolar disorder. Kay Jaimeson. She has written a number of books on the subject.

   I would check to see if Stephen Fry has written anything about it. He’s well known for the condition and being open about it. (If you’re in the US, he’s a highly regarded British comedian / intellectual)
