Manage your anxiety to prevent health complications

The increasing pressure to achieve something high makes it more difficult for those who fall short of goals they set for themselves. The peer pressure, whether in the society or at workplace, is always high. Be it in the promotion at work or the new car the neighbor just bought, people find themselves difficult to stay ahead. The result is high anxiety levels that are taking a toll on health and quality of life.

Anxiety is a psychological state characterized by cognitive, emotional, and behavioral components. These components combine to create the painful feelings that people typically recognize as fear, anger, apprehension, or worry. Events like appearing in an exam, participating in a competition, public speaking, delivering presentations, giving interviews, planning important events, etc. are also likely to trigger nervousness or anxiety. Anxiety attacks usually peak within ten minutes, and that condition rarely last more than a half hour. But during that short time anxiety can be so severe that people feel as if they are totally loosing control.

Anxiety is often accompanied by symptoms such as heart palpitations, apprehension, nervousness, restlessness, anxiousness and occasional nervous tension. Prolonged stress, depression, or a sudden misfortune can even cause anxiety. The problem of anxiety is not related to the age of the person but can happen to anyone. Recent studies have shown that even children are suffering from anxiety.

If anxiety is left untreated it can lead to various kinds of health problems like high blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases. If anxiety attacks occur frequently, such as every day or almost every day, they can cause damage to the blood vessels, heart and kidneys. Chronic lifestyle conditions like (Hypertension & Diabetes) are also frequently associated with anxiety states. High level of anxiety increases the risk of heart diseases and diabetes.

Anxiety attacks have emerged as a growing problem and there are various ways to treat the symptoms related to anxiety. There are widely available synthetic anti-anxiety medicines which are generally prescribed by doctors. The causes of anxiety attacks can differ for each person and so do the treatments. Synthetic medicines help to quickly treat the symptoms associated anxiety attacks. Understandably these synthetic medicines can relieve the symptoms of anxiety but also leads to side-effects beyond anxiety relief.

Apart from the synthetic medicines, a large number of natural remedies are known for their healing effects in relieving the symptoms of anxiety.

For example Pre-TenseĀ® is a plant derived safe & non addictive supplement from Indigene Pharmaceuticals Inc, which relieves the symptoms of Anxiety and acts as a supportive therapy for cardiovascular functions. Unlike the regular synthetic medicines these natural remedies don’t lead to any kind of side effects. Other natural methods include Relaxation techniques, Exercise, Yoga and Massage Therapy, Breathing exercises etc.

Criminal Expungements in Minnesota: Use a Keen Eye to Best Serve Your Client

Although there are many steps to successfully winning a criminal expungement case for your client, likely the most important is carefully reading your client’s criminal history report. The following explains the process for obtaining and requesting changes to your client’s report in Minnesota.

Requesting Criminal History

The first step in filing a criminal expungement is getting your client’s complete criminal history. In Minnesota your client needs to request her criminal history from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (MN BCA). Your client must either send a written request to the MN BCA or go to the office in person. If mailing the request, it must be sent to:

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension

1430 Maryland Avenue East

Saint Paul, MN 55106

Once your client has her criminal history record, it’s essential you look over the record carefully. Although helping your client file the expungement petition and representing her in court is important, methodically studying the criminal history record should be your top priority.

Why is focusing intensely on your client’s criminal history crucial? Because everyone involved in the process of collecting and recording data are human and mistakes happen. Catching a mistake at this stage, before you file the petition, is efficient and it shows your client you are invested in every detail of her case.

Recently I was working with a client with a lengthy criminal history. Together we walked through each arrest and charge. There were some old arrests that my client honestly had little memory of and had a difficult time recalling. But there was one charge, kidnapping, that she was positive was a mistake. It did seem odd because all her other arrests and charges were theft related. I left our meeting trying to reconcile my client’s recollection of her past offenses with her MN BCA criminal history report. Something just didn’t seem right.

Later, back in my office, I methodically read over each arrest listed on the report. I was not sure what I was looking for, but thought maybe I could glean an answer to the discrepancy. First I looked at each arrest individually and took note of the offense date, the statute she was charged under, the charge itself, and the disposition. Then, I compared the arrests to one another. That’s when it hit me.

The Minnesota statute for the crime of theft is section 609.52. Now compare the section for the crime of kidnapping, which isĀ 609.25. It appeared someone transposed the last two numbers when entering my client’s information in the MN BCA system. Below is how I proceeded in getting the MN BCA to change my client’s criminal history report.

Requesting a Correction to the Criminal History

First, I wrote a cover letter explaining why I thought there was an error in the report. Then my client wrote a letter also describing the error. Together both letters were addressed and mailed to:

Criminal History Supervisor

Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension

1430 Maryland Avenue East

Saint Paul, MN 55106

In less than two weeks, an updated criminal history report was mailed to my client, with the kidnapping charge removed.

Ultimately, if your client has multiple arrests over a period of many years, taking the time to scour her criminal record on the front end of the expungement process will save you time and energy. Furthermore, it makes the petition writing process easier and most importantly it highlights your dedication to your client.

Hematophobia – Overcome Your Blood Phobia with Hypnotherapy

An intense fear of blood is a phobia that we treat fairly regularly here in our UK hypno-psychotherapy practice.

Like all other phobias, blood phobia is essentially an anxiety disorder.

The person suffering from a phobia of blood may very well sense that it is illogical, but this does nothing to help him or her to deal with it.

The thought or the sight of blood automatically triggers an irrational fear that seems to overpower the individual, psychologically and even physically.

It can elicit a range of troubling symptoms such as sudden drop in blood pressure, feelings of fainting and dizziness, increased hearbeat, dry mouth and nausea.

Medically speaking, blood phobia has several different names and is spelled in a variety of different ways: hemophobia, haemophobia, hemaphobia and hematophobia being the most common.

The actual causes of this phobia usually lie in the individual’s past.

At some period in the past, the subconscious has linked or paired the thought or the sight of blood with feelings of extreme anxiety.

Most often this has occurred in childhood or in the adolescent years, although less frequently it may have taken place later on in life.

This may have happened directly – as a result of a past experience in which blood was involved – a medical procedure, injection, blood transfusion, accident or the like.

It also may have happened in an indirect manner – through someone else’s negative experience that was witnessed by the individual him or herself. Or it may have been modelled on someone else’s fear and anxiety and so learned vicariously.

There is also the possibility that in some individuals there is a genetic component or predisposition to this phobia, since it can be prevalent in other members of the family.

In my own clinical experience and opinion, however, this can also be explained by the child’s ability to model this fear on the reactions of parents and relevant others.

Whatever the cause, the fact is that this phobia can greatly affect and even jeopardise the person’s health.

Often the blood phobic individual will go to great lengths to avoid any situation or procedure that may cause blood to flow.

Doctors, nurses, hospitals, injections and other essential medical procedures may all be avoided, even when there is a real need for them.

In certain instances, hemophobia is also linked with a phobia of needles (trypnophobia) and/or a fear of death (thanatophobia).

Any treatment for the fear of blood also needs to take this into account. This is why when treating this fear, you need to work with a practitioner who has experience with this particular phobia.

The good news is that help is available.

Working with a suitably qualified and experienced advanced transformational hypnotherapist, it is possible to look back and to uncover the origins and causes of his phobia.

Once this is accomplished, the false belief that has been ‘programmed’ into the subconscious mind that blood equals anxiety can be neutralized.

In its place we can help the individual to experience feelings of calm and relaxation when thinking about or experiencing any circumstance that involves blood.

If you or someone you care about suffers from the fear of blood, blood phobia, also know as hemaphobia, hematophobia, hemophobia and haemophobia, then there really is something you can do about it.

Consult with a fully trained professional advanced transformational hypnotherapist who has experience in dealing with this phobia and begin the process of freeing yourself now.

Through the modern techniques of advanced hypnosis and hypnotherapy you can live your life as you were born to live it – free from the upset and anxiety when it comes to blood.
