Is this a sleep disorder and what is it?
For a couple weeks now i have been having trouble sleeping just laying in bed until about 4.30 am.
When i do go to sleep i wake up crying with the pillow soaking and when i have sleepovers my friends say i shout people’s name out normally my friends. Why am i sleeping like this? It’s starting to take my toll on my school work.

Don’t listen to the person who said your dying. I would make an appointment with your doctor. Have you been in a lot of stress lately? From the sounds of it, stress seems to be most likely cause.
You’re dying.
Something is going on internally, emotionally and spiritually. I would advise seeking prayer and counseling to discuss issues that may have been suppressed. The fact that you are yelling your friends name may be symbolic of you seeing them as a source of help and rescue. Try speaking with a TRUSTED member of your church. In fact I would advise speaking to at least TWO people at one time. You are in a vulnerable state. We don’t want you to seek counsel from an INDIVIDUAL who will make matters worse or take advantage of your vulnerable state. Praying for you. Much Success!
If I drink a lot of soda pop during the day, I have a hard time sleeping at night. Lay off the coffee, tea, and soda pop for a week and see if it helps. Yes, some soda pop has a lot of caffeine in it, enough to keep you awake.
When I was 13 I used to lay awake until 4am which ment I got less than 4 hours sleep at night, as I got older my sleeping got worse so I got less than 2 hours sleep at night.
I now take 50mg amitriptyline and get 8 hours sleep every night.
Ok, I have been doing something somewhat similar but not to that degree and Im afraid that I too cannot explain what is going on. It might be that you’ve fallen into an irregular sleeping pattern. So I don’t know exactly what it is that is going on but I have a few tips to help:
I wouldn’t do anything stressful or something involving the brain like work/homework late at night. Go to bed at around 10pm-10.30pm after a relaxing bath or shower, then get you radio or ipod out and listen to the most calming thing you have, this will probably cause you to think about things going on in your life, try to dwell on fairly positive things but do NOT think about the fact that you won’t be able to get to sleep, if at around 11pm you’re still awake, switch the music off and try and relax some more by thinking about things you like doing or that you would like to do, try though not to be directly thinking about whatever you are thinking about even thought that sounds like total nonsense to you but as simply as I can put it, think your thoughts without actually connecting with them just as if they were some background voice in your head. I’m afraid that that’s all I can tell you to help you… If what I suggested doesn’t work, I would go to your doctor if it really is physically taking it’s toll on you, sorry if it doesn’t help, just trying to help. Well, hope it gets better and you get a decent night sleep =)
