As has already been mentioned ... desensitization is one way to overcome fears/phobias. And if you have lots of fears/phobias ... then there maybe something else that is a root cause of your anxiety. The biggest challenge with desensitization is that people avoid it because they know they are going to have to &#039;face&#039; their fear.

However, there are also some other very effective means of dealing with fears, anxiety, and phobias. I am not including in this list the medical approaches either (i.e. anti-anxiety medication).

1. Psycho or Hypno analysis
2. Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) derived approaches
3. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
4. Hynposis
5. Energy derived approaches such as Emotional Field Therapy (EMT)

At one point I was helping 5 to 10 people a week with phobias with a combination of 2 and 4, 5 and sometimes 1 - with excellent, long-term results. I&#039;m just letting you know this so that it encourages you to go and seek out help from a therapist who works with phobias on a regular basis.
