Is it dangerous for an obese person to develop an eating disorder?
Those afflicted with anorexia nervosa generally become unhealthy by getting too underweight. But what if an overweight person developed an eating disorder in order to achieve regular weight and did not get emaciated and malnurished? Would it be safer for an overweight person to have an eating disorder?
And do people with eating disorders really lose any weight?
LOL not me! i was just wondering
How weird would that be: "Im thinking about developing an eating disorder, can you give me advice on the best way to do this?

it is still really dangerous and you can still die. Many people who are over weight are in greater danger because people may not realise what is happening as they are still overweight/normal.
and you don’t just develop an eating disorder.
AND yess of course they loose weight. But anorexia is not a diet, it is a disease.
If you want to drop a couple of pounds eat less exercise more.
It is unhealthy for anyone to develop an eating disorder….
It’s not safe for anyone to have a eating disorder, especially to lose weight. Best to consult your doctor or R.D. to gather info on losing weight properly.
It’s dangerous for ANYBODY to develop an eating disorder.
And yes, you lose weight. The wrong kind. And it can very easily lead to death. But if you think it is worth it, by all means go for it.
anorexia nervosa is a psychological problem, so if an overweight person became anorexic, they would still be anorexic after losing the appropriate amount of weight, and continue to lose weight. it would just take longer for them to become emaciated. not eating doesn’t just help you lose fat – muscle will suffer, strength will suffer. our body needs food for lots of things. women who are anorexic stop having their period and can develop light fuzzy hair all over their body from malnourishment.
yes, people with eating disorders lose weight, but it’s never healthy.
