Is an eating disorder the same as suicide?
I am planning on going on an eating disorder because I dont feel like eating anymore and im so depressed by being harassed and bullied im sick of it nothing has helped guidance ,principal ,pyschologist nothing.I’m 13 by the way.

i guess in a way it is.. is the harassing happening in school? if so maybe your parents can talk to someone there and have something done and get it stopped.
suicide is when you mean to do it.some people have eating disorder which they can’t do anything about
You can’t go on an eating disorder. It’s a mental condition. Just like you can’t decide to have depression. Eating disorders do not make you happy, they cause even more depression and self loathing. I would tell your parents how horrible school is making you feel and see f you can start over at a new one. If worse comes to worse try homeschooling for a few years. But I’m sure your parents will understand that it’s neccessary for you to switch schools if you feel this poorly Good luck honey, and there are much bettter happier alternatives, believe me.
I don’t think that that’s a good idea. You should just try to ignore the bulling, they are just jerks! Don’t hurt yourself it won’t make you feel better
Have you honestly sat down and talked with your parents? There are other ways to get around killing yourself slowly. The only thing an eating disorder will do for you is to make more people have a reason to pick on you – not feel sorry for you and leave you alone. Even though it sucks, being in school seems like forever, but it is only a short period of your life. When you get older and get out of school, things will be so different, you will surrounded by people who aren’t young and immature and don’t get kicks out of hurting someone’s feelings.
I was so unpopular in school and I was so tiny. People made fun of me all the time, for stupid stuff, like one girl told me I was too happy one time – that I acted like I was on crack or something. They would say anything to get me down, and I just kept my head up and I had 1 friend to talk to, just 1. But that was enough to keep me straight.
I am 23 now and I have a son that will be 4 on Saturday and I feel great about myself. And people I went to school with don’t even remember me, and when I see them most of the time I laugh because my life is so much better than their’s – esp. some of the ones who hurt me so bad. Some of them are jobless, still live at home with their parents, are divorced already, and are just complete trash.
Ask your mom to homeschool you, or change school districts. I just hope that you can find some other way to change how you feel about yourself – instead of letting other people tell you how to feel about yourself.
Please stop it before it starts, I have had an eating disorder for 16 years (I started when I was 12) and it has been the worst part of my life. It started when I, like you was being bullied over my weight and was sad. I eventually became happy, went through the happiest times of my life, but with my eating disorder – it takes away sooo much of the happiness and the qualty of the happiness. Right now I am in the happiest point of my life – three beautiful kids, an AMAZING and intelligent husband and still have that haunting disorder that fills me with guilt and shame. It will ruin all your happiness and make you crazy – please, before you cannot stop it – DONT START. If you can admit to your parents your feelings, maybe they will help you find a good alternative to weight loss and there are soooooo many good healthy ones. Please, do this for yourself, for your future children, and for your future happiness – you owe it to yourself and forget those peices of poop that are harassing you – five years from now you won’t even remember their names but if they lead you to an eating disorder that will be with you FOREVER, even if it is gone – believe me – I KNOW.

You are no different than 90% of the kids in the world. The first question is do you like who you are? Do you act like yourself around others or do you try to act as others just to fit in? You have a long life ahead of you and many obstacles to over come. You can have a very bright future. This is only a very short part of your life,just live your life and not worry about what others say. Go to school learn all you can than do what makes you happy after wards. Your choices above will do no good and may even cause pain to yourself and those who do love you.
Continue to eat. It makes your body feel good by releasing happy hormones. Try exercising as it also releases happy hormones. You’ll feel worse if you stop eating.

Don’t give up just yet your still young you have your whole life ahead of you. Believe it or not the bullies will not be around forever and your school wouldn’t be around for ever there is life after that. Get in touch with your hopes and dreams again and find some strength to not give up.
If the bullying is getting you so depressed you should look into moving schools as this will give you a new start and help you gain some self esteem.
You may also like to remember that your body is changing. The body is a fine in balance of hormones which when they are changed i.e your going through puberty. This can make you feel worse.

NO. But you need help for both……..listen…..you’re not the first nor the last human teenager to feel this way. just know that you are not alone…and it too shall pass.
I don’t think that you can just go on an eating disorder. Second of all, it won’t solve any of your problems. Are you overweight? There are safer ways to loose weight and given your state of mind, I strongly recommend Richard Simmons. Get his audio tapes for walking (they are uplifting and humorous) and start walking. Honey, find a local church and join their youth group. While your at it, volunteer at a local nursing home, you’ll be suprised by how much they will love and cherish you. You need time around people other than your peers. Right now those peers (teenagers have no real life experience, they are conceited, and only worry about fashion looks), are blinded by the true value and worth of an individual. Do you have elderly grandparents or a neighbor? do you have any idea how valueable you are to an elderly person with no one to talk with or visit. You can also volunteer at a local soup kitchen. Then you will not only be cherished,but you’ll see how unimportant those stupid kids (peers) are and see some real problems of the world (to which you are part of a solution). Whether you believe in God or Karma, everything happens for a reason. I’ve been through the things and ideas that you are experiencing. I never considered suicide, because of my religion. I did consider going on a hungry strike, no such luck, I like to eat too much and could never stay angry that long. Baby, 13 is so… young, you’ve only just begun. Your body will go through many changes, so you don’t really know what you will look as an adult. Did you know there are little children, who also need someone like you to care. You could also volunteer at a local daycare and work with reading to the little ones. It’s a chance for them to know love from someone who’s fluffy. Perhaps save someone from future prejudice. I’m a big Girl too and although I’m not extremely proud of that fact, I’m ok with it. I have made many lives better or even bearable because, I was there when someone needed me. I am a good person! I’m poud to be able to say that, because there are lots of negative temptations in this world and other than food, I’ve pretty much avoided them all. I think that I wouldn’t want my child to write back and forth with an adult, so understand if they say no. But trust me on the advise). If all else fails, maybe consider changing schools. However, I don’t think that is a fix all for your problems.
P.s do something positive and good for yourself today, get your mom to help you paint your nails with a pretty nail polish or style you hair a differnt way. Enjoy this day and the fact that you are alive!
I don’t think you plan on going on an eating disorder, you may be thinking of a hunger strike. Either way, if you can avoid doing that, it would be better for you.
You are still very young, give life a chance. Things will get better some day soon, trust me.
An eating disorder is not something one chooses to go on. As such, it cannot be totally considered suicide. You are in that awkward stage of life where nothing seems right. Believe me, at 13 I wondered if anyone really liked me, and figured that, if they didn’t, it was their loss–not mine. I liked myself, and that’s what mattered. BTW–I was overweight, wore glasses, and had acne–teen angst multiplied many times over. Add to this the hormonal flux of teenagedom, and you see that there are those who have it much worse. And, above all else, don’t give up on the ones who truly love and care for you–your parents and family. Keep your head high. Don’t give up, or give in. And, one other thought: suicide is so final, so irreversible. It hurts those who love you, and is just murder. You have so much ahead of you still, plenty of firsts, I do believe. It will not become you, I am sure! Take care of yourself.
