How do you tell a person with an eating disorder that you want them to stop?
I love my sister and she has an eating disorder. She binges and purges and works out excessively. I don’t know how to approach her or what to say. I’ve been acting like I don’t know, but I hear her purging at night. I’m younger than her, so I don’t have much influence or that "wise" factor older siblings have. Any help would be appreciated.

eating disorders do not go away on their own.your sister needs help now.these things can get pretty bad,you need to bring this to your parents attention as well.please get her help.
Hmm…well start by telling her she doesn’t need to start herself and she looks great…and if that doesn’t work she’ll eventually stop hopefully, if not, take her to the doctor?
Or tell her the facts about purging,
Teeth become yellow,
hair falls out.
You know.
that is a tough one, because you cannot really convince someone with an eating disorder to stop, but you ca tell her you love her and are concerned about her health and safety. do you think you could tell your parents? one of the only ways to overcome an eating disorder is through therapy. would your family be willing to get your sister some counseling?
