How do people with Bipolar Disorder make it in today's business world?
It’s competitive, and it seems stability/happiness is out of reach because being bipolar you feel are out of touch.

Hi- I am asking myself this question recently. When I look back I see the amazing jobs I have held (& lost) because at some point, I got REALLY depressed, wouldnt leave house, called in a LOT (employers don’t tend to like that-lol). I see/saw myself as a ‘screw’ up. and thought I could’nt do anything right.
Does my work history suck> Yeah, but guess what? I keep trying- key words * KEEP TRYING.* I didnt realize for years that that having ‘out in the professional world issues’ was a common problem for bi-pole’s- I thought it was just me. Also know that you are farrrrrr farr from alone, I found this & hope you like it
"If you have a fussy baby, do you shout at the baby? Do you get angry at it? Do you shake it? No—you build a cradle for the baby." That’s what we have to deliberately allow ourselves to practice: to treat ourselves with care and concern.

My boss is bipolar. She used to control it by taking medicine, but now she’s trying to get pregnant so she’s off of the meds.
She’s very smart, but so am I. I judge her mood & figure out when to stay away.
People with bipolar disorder barely make it in today’s world. People without medication are even worse. People like your mother are anal retented pain in the azzes.
My Aunt is bipolar and she works everyday. I suggest that the person with bipolar continues to take the medication and going to counseling. Day to day stress is always a pain but that is why they have support groups and such. Another thing you could try is try to get disability. Depending on how intense the disease is, the person may qualify. If you want to find a job that is less stressful, pays well, and is pretty much working by yourself….you could try doing security. There is a company called Securitas USA that is nationwide. I did that for four years and now have a higher paying security job. You work in a gate or drive a vehicle around or walk around but you are mostly on your own. I know that people can tend to irritate a bipolar sufferer. I hope that my suggestion helped and good luck to. Please continue to stay on your meds. If it’s a med that’s not right for you, they have so many new meds coming out and different types. I am sure that they can keep adjusting them until they find the right one for you.
