How do I handle the anxiety of a pregnancy after a miscarriage?
I am a financially stable 20 year old. A little over a month ago, I had an unexplained miscarriage when I was 7 weeks pregnant. My fiance and I want to try and conceive again, but I am scared I will not be able to deal with the constant panic and anxiety. I feel like everytime I go to the bathroom I will be expecting to see blood.

If pregnant again, you will most certainly check for blood everytime you go to the washroom, at least for the first trimester. There is no doubt about that (after one miscarriage, my pregnant wife still does even though last pregnancy was a success). After that you can relax. There is nothing that you can do to get around this – still need to be mentally prepare to accept that miscarriage can happen and do everything in your power to reduce risks.

Maybe you should give yourself more time. I had a miscarriage in October of last year and we started trying again in April, I conceived in May. I don’t think I could’ve handled conceiving again so soon. Did you talk to your doctor? Mine advised me that it wasn’t a good idea to try and get pregnant right away. Anyways, I just take it day by day. Things are looking good and I just really don’t think about it. It sounds a little harsh, but in order for me to have a healthy pregnancy now I don’t really think about the past miscarriage. It gets easier as time goes on.
There is nothing that you can do to feel at ease with your next pregnancy or any other one for that matter. I have had two and until you hold your baby you are on pins and needles until they are born and you hold them. All you can do is if it was not a medical reason that will keep giving you problems you just have to take a leap of faith and treasure every day you have. You will worry about movement, the heart rate, kicks and squirms. It’s all part of becoming a mom after miscarriage. Sorry I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but it’s how I felt with all my pregnancies.
Honestly you should discuss this with your doctor. Usually they’ll suggest waiting 3 or 4 months before TTC again after a miscarriage.
You have to be able to get past the pain and anxiety of your loss. The stress is not going to be beneficial to you or your child when you do get pregnant again.
