I’ve suffered from Agoraphobia given we was a child. Up until not long ago it was docile with a operation of daze techniques, though we was taken ill, as well as after 2 months of finish bedrest we am right away utterly incompetent to face a outward world. we am routinely a turn headed person, though we have found myself experiencing stress attacks, palpitations, wild jolt as well as drunken spells, when usually meditative about starting outside. we know we need to see a GP, though we only can’t face withdrawal a house, what can we do??

Call a psychologist to come to you, you may need anti-anxiety medicine to help you go outside until some behavioral therapy will help you.

Call your local crisis line. They can help you. There are people who can come to your house. You won’t get full treatment from them but they can help you get treatment.

One should be able to come to you, and work with you in steps to get you out of the house. Good luck, and I hope you feel better soon!

First of all, don’t get caught up on the idea of something being wrong with you. I’ve worked with mentally ill people for almost 5 years now, and although Agoraphobia is not a mental disease per se- (like schizophrenia, etc) it is important to realize that your fears and feelings come from a real place, and are mental in nature. And it’s okay! Lots of people are afflicted with Agoraphobia, and the process of coming out into the world is a process that for some takes days, weeks, months, sometimes even years. Don’t get discouraged if it takes you a bit longer than you had hoped for. Distraction techniques work only to a point. And while I empathize with you suffering from this for years, I must also reassure you that you have the power to overcome this.
There are various online help groups, support groups- yahoo, msn, etc. Many different online communities can offer help, but it’s important to get in touch with a Psychiatric professional who can help you. Any good psych will be willing to come to you, instead of forcing you to come to them. You may want to talk to the professionals at your local hospital and ask who they refer people to, just to get an idea of what your options are. Don’t hesitate to ask for help! Looks like you’re wanting to change, which is the most important thing for your success. I wish you the best of luck, and look forward to hearing how you do! :)

Oh wow! I’ve had that as a child starting esp. @ the age of 10.Now I’m 19 & I had it off & on until @ 13. I didn’t want to go to school…b.c I kept getting flashbacks of being teased due to the fact that I was beautiful…

They soon put me on pills for my depression & now I’m off so things are alright. I KNOW what your going through.
