If I understood correctly, she throws up because she wants to be skinny. You should try to explain her that throwing up will certainly lead her to death. Try to find some images on the net and show her. Than tell her about many types of diets like macrobiotic, vegetarian, vegan etc. Tell her that people who are strict in it, usually have perfect look, or are sometimes even skinny. Than find some images of skinny people and tell her they are all strict in some type of diet.
Do not advice her to visit a doctor. That will just make things worse. In that stadium people usually think only sick people go to doctor. Because of that she might ignore you, or she could even start avoiding you, and your friendship could be over. You should show her that you care about her health, and not tell her she’s sick person who needs medical attention. I hope this helps!
I understand your worry and frustration. Unfortunately, the only thing you can do is be there for emotional support..
She needs to go a doctor for diagnosing and treatment, quickly.
i know how u can help her but she might not like you for a while.
start off by telling a school psychologist. if he can talk to her and maybe find the reason shes doing this, then things MIGHT clear up. eating disorders are very tricky.
another thing to do if that doesnt work is to let a guidence counselor know what she is doing, and have them call the parents. the parents should then confront her about her issue and get her the proper help. i suggest you do this asap, eating disorders can really fcuk up your life once you get older. the effects last a lifetime. major health problems like heart problems, stomach ulcers, and disrupted hormones and reproductive difficulties could spring up in her future if she does not get help.
its nice to see how concerned u are for ur friend. good luck!
If you reely want to help….
you NEED to tell someone
even if it ruins ur friendship
you wil know she is safe
so whats more imporant
tell her to go to a doctor or something fast before anything serious happens
I wouldnt suggest telling a school official, or another friend. NOBODY like that. If you really want to betray her trust, I’d say tell her parents, and only her parents. Just so you’re aware though, you cant help someone with an eating disorder unless they WANT to be helped. In order to recover, she has to want it.
