Can I get social anxiety medicine my first visit to the doctors?
My social Worker referred me to an MD ( I think it’s an MD ) to give me social anxiety medicine. My anxiety is pretty bad and I have an appointment tommorow with one of them there. Do you think I could get the medicine tomorrow ?! How long will it take?

If the doctor thinks you need a medication he will write you a prescription the day of your visit. So yes, if he thinks you need it.
If you have an appointment with a psychiatrist, and he or she evaluates you and determines that medication may help you, you may get a prescription that day. I would also recommend talking to a counselor, as there are some techniques (other than medication) that may be helpful in reducing your anxiety.
Sometimes a combination of medication and other techniques can be helpful.
I am familiar with the Feeling Good book another person mentioned, and that may be helpful as well.
It depends how conservative your doctor is, what you say and how he/ she perceives you, things going on in your life, and history of addiction because benzodiazapines and very very addictive.
The easiest way to be prescribed is by describing panic attacks (shortness of breath, feeling of vomitting, feeling you were going to die, sweating, out of body type expierience). Benzos are the only one that can actually stop these in their tracks. Research Panic Disorder, see if those symptoms fit you. I know that I suffer from it so bad that I was hosptialized for 6 weeks. I loved being on benzos at first but you build up a tolerance and really only therapy will work in the long term.
BE HONEST with your doctor. And if you dont like him or her, find someone new. It might take a few tries but you will find someone who understands what you are going through and will not let you suffer through your anxiety without medication. Make sure you follow dosing instructions too, because if you start to abuse them, you build up a tolerance and they will never work the same for you again ever and then you are just screwed.
Good Luck.
Try drinking relaxation tea and try to get as much sleep as possible, and just breath deeply and try to do fun things…just say whatever happens happens and you should feel better once you start accepting things.
no need to worry life is too short
